The last week has been all about preparing for the trip. We have been fixing things on Vilde (our houseboat) and here on the jetty and at the same time making Snigel ready to go.
On Tuesday we went to Skylt & Dekor to pick up the stickers that they made for us. They look really good on Snigel! Thank you!
Our neighbour Kalle gave us a microphone sleeve from Sveriges Radio for the phone to reduce surrounding noise when we do interviews.
On Thursday we went to Autovendo in Falkenberg to install our Alugas bottle. We’re very happy about it and after the installation we went and filled it up straight away.
Thank you Alugas travelmate, LED2U and Autovendo for everything!
In the middle of all of this we had to fix our trailer so that we could drive and park it at our friends place over the winter. Mike had to do a bit of welding on it before we could go but now it’s safely parked in the woods.
Snigel also got a new carpet in the bathroom, a fan installed, a new shelf for our mobile phones up by the bed and a charging station up by the bed.
On Saturday we woke up to a beautiful morning. The first frost was on our floating veranda so we felt really happy that today was the day we’re leaving!
We emptied our flat in Vilde and made her look nice, took the things we’re bringing in bags to Snigel and just left them on the floor in the bathroom. The swans Sören and Selma came to see us off and to say goodbye.
We drove off to the ferry and it felt really good to be on the road again!
Let the adventure begin!
We had a beer at the bar and waited for our turn to go and eat. When we came to the counter and showed our ticket she told us we were supposed to have had our dinner at the early sitting, not the late one. Oops! Luckily for us it was not full so we got a table anyway. Thank you!
After dinner we went back to our cabin and fell asleep.
In the morning we only had time for breakfast and then we arrived in Kiel. It’s always a special feeling to be in the beginning of an adventure and we love it!
We drove for a few hours and then parked next to the river Saale where we stayed for the night. We unpacked everything from the bags and made the bed, Mike made meatballs and pasta and we watched a few episodes of a series before we went to bed.
Today we’ve been driving south towards Regensburg and have now stopped at a gas station for the night. It’s so nice to be on the road again!
Härligt! Äntligen är ni på väg, låt äventyret börja ?
Det känns helt underbart att äntligen vara på väg!
