Today it feels like we have just waited for tomorrow to come…
In the morning it was a bit cloudy but then the sun came out and we went for a short ride on the bikes. It’s not that much to see around here but it was something to do.
Mike made nachos in the oven and then we watched some episodes of BoJack Horseman before we went to bed.
Fingers crossed for tomorrow.
We’re now at the workshop. They are changing the thermostat and hopefully that will solve the problem. If not, maybe we need to change the radiator.
After a while Giorgio came to the workshop and wondered if we wanted to have lunch with him. First we went to the storage place of Gruppo Grotte Pipistrelli so he could unload the equipment that he had use during the weekend. We picked up one helmet each and he also gave us t-shirts with the Pipistrelli print on. After lunch we were going to go underground into one of the bomb shelters that were used in WWll. Giorgio explained that a TV documentary had been made about the shelters in the area. Well, this is how we understood it… More about this soon.We went to a small local place to eat and had a really tasty Padellaccia (bread with pork and beans inside) which is special for Terni.
When we came to the bomb shelter we got a small tour inside and then waited for some more people from the Pipistrelli group to come. It was great to see them again (we met in April when we changed the engine). After a while two guys with a video camera came. We now understood that they were going to film the documentary today 🙂 Google translate is good but not perfect….
So, this is how it happened that we might be in an Italian documentary about bomb shelters in Terni 🙂
The reason so many people from Gruppo Grotte Pipistrelli were there was that they were the ones that did the excavation of the shelter in 2012. It was really interesting to be part of all this.
When we came back to Umbradiesel, Alessandro told us that he had changed the thermostat and some sensors but that the temperature gauge on the panel showed the wrong temperature. It went to red even if the engine was not boiling. He needed more time to check what could be wrong with it. Since we don’t really have time we decided to leave it as it is and keep an eye on the engine temperature.
He wanted to take us for a ride in the morning to show us how the gauge was behaving.
Since we couldn’t take Snigel, Giorgio took us to the dentist so they could check that everything looks good where my tooth used to be and to remove the stitches. Everyone was so friendly and helpful!
We’ve had a great day with Giorgio with a lot of new and fun experiences! Thank you!
We stayed the night outside the workshop and now in the morning Alessandro knocked on our door. He had found a new external temperature gauge! We’re so grateful that we have good people around us that wants to help!
We were invited for breakfast at the workshop, coffee, pizza and cheesecake. We feel like part of the family!
Snigel now has a new temperature gauge and is ready to roll on. Thank you to everyone in Terni for a wonderful time!
Soon we’re heading towards Civitavecchia to take the ferry to Tunis that leaves tomorrow evening. We’re so excited!
We came to a campsite in the evening that we had found on Park4night. We parked outside because the gate was closed and it was very dark so we didn’t feel like driving any further. Mike made a lot of pancakes for dinner and to bring on the ferry. After a while a guy came in a car and stopped to talk to us. He told us the entrance was around the corner and that the campsite was open… Because it was so dark we didn’t see it. We finished our dinner and then went inside.
